Nel corso del CinemaCon di Las Vegas il Presidente della Sony Motion Pictures, Tom Rothman, ha annunciato ufficialmente che Jumanji: Benvenuti nella giungla avrà il suo sequel, Jumanji 3 che arriverà nel periodo di Natale 2019.  Il sequel, per ammissione dello stesso Tom Rothman, competerà direttamente con Star Wars: Episodio IX che sarà presentato nello stesso periodo.
